Casa de la Loma is located at Playa el Roble, Puerto Carrillo, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. The villa is a great hideaway from the stress of modern living.

There are two identical bedroom wings, each with 2 master bedrooms and 1 bath, and will easily accommodate a maximum of 10 people. The master bedroom (king) and second bedroom (1 double and 1 single bed) are separated by a large shared bath. All bedrooms have individually controlled air conditioners. The bathrooms are 2 large four-piece baths with seats in the showers. Master bedrooms have a commanding view of the Pacific Ocean.

The fully modern kitchen includes two sinks, a large refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, toaster oven, coffee maker, blender, rice cooker, juicer, 4-slice toaster, ice cream maker, counter top grill, island, granite counter tops, and table settings for 12. The laundry room has a washer and dryer, ironing board, sink, and linen storage.

The great room is spacious and includes dining and entertainment areas and 3 large double doors opening onto the pool and the ocean view. There is a sit-up counter at the pass-through to the kitchen. The dining table comfortably seats 12. Adjacent to the dining room is a  wet bar with refrigerator, granite top, wine rack and cabinets for storage.

The lounging entertainment area (living room) has Direct Satellite TV, DVD, VCR, 42 inch Plasma TV with large library of DVD and VCR movies and books. There are also many board games including several jigsaw puzzles for the kids (or adults).

The pool is a 5 x 10 meter infinity saltwater pool overlooking the ocean. The outdoor deck has a large rancho with dining table for six and lounge chairs for relaxing. An additional rancho at the other end of the pool is complete with sink, refrigerator, sit- up bar and barbecue for outdoor entertaining.

The staff Ana, Freddy and Alison, their 7-year-old daughter, have a separate apartment below and are available to make your stay a memorable experience. With seventeen years experience, Ana will prepare local specialties or together you can plan the meals for the day. Ana keeps the house, cooks all the meals except for Sundays and does the laundry--both household and guests personal. It is not Ana and Freddy's responsibility to do the grocery shopping, but some guests may enjoy their assistance. Prior to your arrival, upon request, they will stock sufficient items for your initial meal. There will be a charge to reimburse them for the items requested plus a small fee. Freddy is responsible for maintaining the pool and the property. Both Ana and Freddy are native to the area. So, if you need any directions, don't hesitate to ask. Ana is fluent in English. The staff is available six days a week. Sunday is their well deserved day off.

Carrillo Beach is a white-sand beach and stretches over 3 km. This palm-lined beach is wonderful for walking and jogging, and kids love playing in the sand and in the waves, and collecting sea shells. The beach is approximately a 3-minute drive from Casa de la Loma. Camarinal is a black-sand beach where sea turtles lay their eggs. It is very interesting for walking. Also, Camarinal is a local favorite for surfing. Camarinal is about a 10-minute drive from Casa de la Loma. There are two small beaches close the house with tidal pools and tropical fish. Samara, which is approximately 15 km away, is a little larger centre. There are many restaurants; several internet cafes; scuba school; bicycle, quad, and car rentals; boutiques; fruit market; meat market; fish market; grocery store; English-speaking medical clinic; pharmacy; message therapists; beauty salons; and local artisans. Samara also has an extensive white-sand beach. A 24-hour ATM machine is available at the Banco National in Samara. Horseback riding, sea kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, four-wheeling, whale watching, bird-watching, butterfly watching, canopy touring, and world-renowned deep-sea fishing are just some of the activities available in the area. Of course, the ever present monkeys are there for your entertainment. Arenal, an active volcano with adjacent hot springs, is a 4-hour drive away. A visit to Arenal would require an over-night stay and is highly recommended.
