Casa de la Selva is an ideal villa if you're looking for an isolated, yet elegant escape for your perfect holiday. Located in Escaleras on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica between Dominical and Uvita, where the mountains meet the ocean, this upscale, private residence offers all the amenities of a luxurious getaway yet in the middle of the jungle. The 5,000 sq. ft. villa (floor plan) was built by an American designer and is carefully nestled in the primary rainforest. The great room (as do most rooms) overlooks an infinity-edge pool and outdoor entertainment area. The large dining room area may be formally set for dinner or you may simply prefer to dine poolside surrounded by the jungle with a portal view of the Pacific Ocean. All rooms in the villa have sliding glass doors with screens allowing sunlight to fill each space. The tongue-in-cheek tree house is totally open-air with it's rancho-style, and thatched roof. The kitchen is modernly equipped with dishwasher, microwave, large fridge and range, cookware and cutlery. There are four bedrooms and two and a half baths. Comfortably sleeps 8 people. The master bedroom has inlaid hardwood floor, walk-in closet and French doors to a private terrace. It is cooled by an overhead fan and the walk-in closet is equipped with a dehumidifier. The second bedroom in the master suite doubles as an office/den and overlooks a hibiscus flowering garden. In the 'green season', the stream and waterfall on this side of the property may be faintly heard to put you to sleep. The Guest Wing is spaciously separate with two bedrooms and bath, it's own efficiency kitchen, sitting area and private terrace. There is one double bed and two twin beds. This wing is perfect for a couple, teenage kids or grandparents. If you look carefully, you should see the resident sloth from here. All baths are tiled and elegantly appointed. Only 5 minutes from the nearest beach and 1.5 km off the paved Costanera highway onto a private little road, you will likely see white-faced and howler monkeys, toucans, parrots, hummingbirds, sloths and a variety of other unusual wildlife. A five minute walk down a path, brings you to a secluded waterfall which is in full force during the 'green season' (June to October). Rates $2,500/week for 4 or less guests $2,750 for 5 - 8
