Playa Grande is a protected beach on the north pacific coast of Costa Rica offering prime surfing and night tours to see the nesting leatherback turtles. The estuary dividing us from Tamarindo beach offers boat or kayak tours where an abundance of wildlife can be seen. Howler monkeys are often visitors in our backyard. Walk to some of the great bars and restaurants of Tamarindo, or relax in your own private resort on Playa Grande. Surfboards and kayaks are available as are many other activities. With its 3 miles of white sand, Playa Grande is one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. The beach and the bay of Tamarindo are part of the Marine National Park "Las Baulas". Playa Grande has received the "Ecological Blue Flag" award each year for the high quality of its environment. Playa Grande is the location of some of the best surfing in the world. The area was made famous by the movie Endless Summer. The break is known to have perfect left and right peaks and waves up to almost double-overhead. A very consistent break, Playa Grande almost always has fun, ride able waves, and usually catches more swell than Tamarindo. Rates
