Villa Escaleras is a spacious four bed/five bath Costa Rica villa located in the Escaleras Mountains, 1,200 feet above Costa Rica's rugged and beautiful Southern Pacific coast, minutes from Dominical. This unique region, accessible from the Costañera Sur, offers incredible scenery, abundant wildlife and a full range of recreational opportunities in a tranquil setting.

Villa Escaleras offers a luxurious living experience, with its lovely large pool and veranda, nestled high in the Costa Rican jungle. Experience the most stunning sunsets imaginable, framed by the lush tropical vegetation of the rain forest that abuts the Pacific ocean.

Containing over 4,500 square feet on three levels, the villa features:

The villa is tastefully furnished in the traditional Central American style, incorporating natural fabrics and Latin American art and is equipped with satellite TV, DVD player, ipod-accessible stereo CD and tape player telephone, high speed Internet access through a wireless network and full laundry facilities for guest use.

Each of the four bedrooms of the villa feature a queen-sized bed. In addition, two couches can be converted to queen-sized beds, making the villa able to accommodate up to 10 people comfortably. Nearby Casa Escaleras is available to raise the occupancy to 12.

The patio is the lowest level and living suites on this level open out onto the swimming pool. The patio level contains two suites, The La Terraza Suite and the Master Suite. La Terraza opens directly onto the pool patio.

La Terraza includes a large sleeping room with a full ocean view and an attached full bath. The sleeping room contains a small closet area and is furnished with a table and chairs in addition to the queen-sized bed and night stands. A ceiling fan over the bed complements the natural ventilation of the room.

The Master Suite contains a sitting room with a full closet area, a sunken sleeping area with two seating areas adjacent to the queen-sized bed and night stands (as well as a ceiling fan and overhead light) and a full bath that features an outdoor shower with an ocean view. The Master Suite accesses a lower level veranda with an ocean view and has direct access both to the patio and pool as well as a stairway to the main floor of the house.

The primary living areas of the villa are located on the main level.The largest segment of the main level of the house is an approximately 20' wide by 45' long Great Room. The vaulted ceiling area is finished in exotic hardwood and includes two skylights as well as three ceiling fans for ventilation. The floor is a tropical hardwood called "purple heart." The interior wall of the Great Room is covered by a life-sized mural of jungle scenes. The Great Room includes a large dining area with a table that seats 10-12. There is a small television viewing area with a TV and DVD player and a large wet bar. A stereo tape and AM-FM tuner/tape/CD player with an iPod connection is also located in the Great Room.

Adjacent to the Great Room is a full kitchen, totally remodeled in 2008, with a new stainless steel refrigerator, gas stove and oven and dishwasher and a microwave oven, plus a full range of small appliances, tableware and glassware, stored either in custom cabinets or the full pantry. The kitchen and pantry contain quarry tile floors.

Unlimited local telephone calls are free; International telephone calls placed from the Villa are charged at the rate of 10 cents per minute. There is no charge for Internet use.

A powder room, laundry room, with full sized washing machine and dryer and an owner's office complete the main floor spaces. The office is equipped with a telephone and a desktop computer that offers high speed Internet access. If you have a personal laptop, it can access the Internet from anywhere in the Villa via a wireless network.

On the ocean and pool sides of the main floor, a large, covered veranda provides the best vistas for animal and bird watching, whale watching in the Pacific Ocean or just viewing the pool and patio areas.

The veranda is furnished with chairs and tables, for eating and lounging, including two hammocks and two hammock-chairs. A spotting telescope is available for long distance viewing.

Stairs lead down from the main level to the Master Suite and up from the main level to the bedrooms located in the upper level.

The Upper Level contains two large sleeping suites, Sunrise and Sunset. Sunrise and Sunset are both large living suites with vaulted, hardwood ceilings and attached full baths. Each sleeping room contains a small closet area and is furnished with a table and chairs in addition to queen-sized beds and night stands. Ceiling fans over the beds augment natural ventilation.

The swimming pool is located on a natural stone patio adjacent to the La Terraza Suite.

The pool is kidney-shaped, about 35 feet by 20 feet and is seven feet deep at the deep end.
