Casa Amigo
Paradise Costa Rica, located on three acres in Dominical, has a 3 bed/3 1/2 bath villa (Villa Mango) and a 3 bed/bath (Casa Amigos). Villa Mango (3000+ sq. ft.) can sleep six to eight people. The Amigo (2000+ sq. ft.) will accommodate up to 6 people. Each villa has a 27" color TV and a DVD player with a nice selection of DVD movies. At this time there is no satellite TV service. There is a stereo system with AM/FM radio and CD player in each villa, in Villa Mango speakers connect out to the balcony. The kitchens are well stocked with dishwasher, granite counter tops, blender, garbage disposal, even coffee grinder! There is no A/C, but because of the elevation (1200 ft....approx. 350 m.) altitude on the side of the mountain, there are cooling breezes, so A/C is not necessary. Each room has 3-speed ceiling fans (and on the balconies) which is sufficient to keep the temperature comfortable. Also the center of each house roof is "open" with screening, and the ceilings are very high, so hot air rises up and out. Special screens were purchased for the villas that have smaller holes than usual, and that keeps out even the tiny flying bugs. The property has an artesian well; pure water pumped from deep in the mountain; clean and delicious! Other special features of this property include two 48' chlorine free lap pool; beautiful landscaping with stream and waterfalls and panoramic ocean/rainforest views from every room. Dominical is a small coastal village (pop. approx. 600). People are easy-going, and the relaxed atmosphere is contagious! There are various cozy bars and a surprising variety of casual restaurants and "sodas" (local food). Later in the night, some of these restaurants change into small-scale discotheques, where "Ticos" (native Costa Ricans) and vacationers dance to Latin music. In the past few years, a number of wonderful restaurants have opened in our area, including Thai, Italian, Continental, Indonesian, Mexican and French...all in beautiful tropical settings. Shops in the area include a gift store, clothes boutique, small grocery store, fruit stands, and a bakery. Dominical and many beautiful, secluded beaches are just a quick drive "down the mountain" from the property. Vickie, The American property manager, who speaks fluent Spanish, lives in a small house on the property, and is almost a private concierge! She helps guests get oriented with the villa, can also arrange meal service, and stock the kitchen for guests' arrival, and helps with scheduling tour activities. Vickie is a masseuse, so guests are able to get wonderful massages on-site!"
